House Cares Small museum of oil and the territory

A journey through olive groves, history and community

The Small Museum of Oil and the Territory tells the story of olive cultivation and oil production, takes us through the transformations of the Scratch Farm and expands to include the history of the territory and the people of this area.

The visit consists of three stages through three different rooms of the old Farm, the oil mill, the theater and the new exhibition hall through which the history from the 16th century to the present is reconstructed.

The museum is conceived and designed to accommodate adults, children and babies and offers workshops for children upon request.

A museum that grows with the community

The Small Museum of Oil and Land is participatory and constantly changing. It is based, in fact, on the idea of the collection of materials and history by anyone and everyone who would like to contribute. Since its opening, a collection of photographs depicting private or public events that form a record of life in the area has been launched.

  • A space open to all and sundry

We envisioned an exhibit containing tools and solutions that would enable people of different ages and with different abilities to visit.

    A setting that respects nature

Taking a cue from the circularity of materials at the time of the farm-stone, wood, rope, metal-we decided to use only natural, biodegradable or recyclable materials for the exhibits, creating the first completely plastic-free museum.

  • How to visit the museum

Tours are free and guided for school groups and groups staying at Casa Cares.

Those not staying at Casa Cares can book a visit by writing to info@casacares.it
