In our vegetable garden, we grow local vegetables, herbs, and medicinal plants using natural methods, without the use of chemicals or synthetic substances. These fresh, seasonal produce enrich our dishes, offering guests delicious meals prepared in the traditional way. We host tastings of our homemade olive oil, which you can purchase and take home with you.
We have a park for your leisure time, and—in collaboration with local cooperatives—we organize and host social farming projects.

Meals and coffee breaks
Meals, served buffet-style in the large dining room, are one of the highlights for our guests. We prioritize fresh, seasonal ingredients and offer many vegetarian and vegan options. The dining room is on the ground floor and is accessible to people with disabilities.
The beverage fridge, coffee machine and herbal tea corner are always at your disposal, and we can arrange sweet or savory snacks for your coffee breaks upon request.

Oil and tastings
Reggello is known as the “city of olive oil,” and here we have over 700 olive trees cultivated using organic methods. We produce three varieties of olive oil, one of which has been recognized by Slow Food as among the best in the area; you can taste and purchase them on-site.

The park and outdoor activities
We have a large park surrounding the house with a shady garden equipped with deck chairs and barbecues to enjoy the warm weather.
A scenic volleyball court in which to go play, rest or even just watch the stars.
For those who want to walk and explore, magnificent terraces with olive trees and a forest to discover in search of a small stream.

Casa Cares uses a constructed wetland system, has installed solar panels, and practices recycling and composting.

Transportation and trips
Ask us for information to best arrange your arrival and departure to and from Casa Cares and for organizing trips to the surrounding area where you can visit the Pieve di Cascia with paintings by Masaccio, the Balze di Reggello, the forest of Vallombrosa and a few kilometers away Florence, Arezzo, Siena.

Staff and volunteers
Each year Casa Cares welcomes volunteers who provide their passion and commitment by enhancing their skills and energy. Volunteers can stay for weeks or months and help run the services and care for the olive grove and vegetable garden. Contact us for information on how to volunteer!

Social farming
Casa Cares also hosts some social farming activities in collaboration with cooperatives in the area that give people in need the opportunity to experience moments of living and working together with our staff. Since 2020 to date we have hosted about 2 projects a year open to people of all ages.
