We believe that art, in its various forms, is a powerful tool for healing and nourishing the soul when times get dark and we yearn to experience a new season

For this reason, we have chosen three exhibitions, inviting you to spend a weekend or a short vacation in Rome, Florence e Venice with an overnight stay in one of the accommodations of the Waldensian Diaconia. Meeting you will be good for us, because we like to welcome, and traveling will allow you to escape from everyday life. There is a third reason why it is worth planning a stay in the Waldensian Houses: the solidarity. Thanks to you, people in need will be able to find support and concrete solutions to the problems that afflict them, taking advantage of the services promoted by the Waldensian Diaconia in Italy.

Rome, Bonaparte Palace is hosting from Oct. 8, 2022 to March 23, 2023 an unmissable exhibition dedicated to Vincent van Gogh, the Dutch painter of extreme artistic sensibility and tormented life, author of masterpieces and touching writings such as the Letters to Theo. Among the works on display-sourced from the prestigious Kröller Müller Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands-is theSelf-portrait ” on a blue background with green touches, from 1887, where the artist’s image stands out in three-quarters. The piercing gaze turned to the viewer shows an unusual pride, not always evident in the complex strings of Van Gogh’s art. The rapid strokes of the brush and the strokes of color laid side by side generate that sense of turmoil and dismay typical of the artist.” PLAN YOUR VISIT

Moving up the Peninsula, in the Tuscan capital is underway, at Palazzo Strozzi, the exhibition Olafur Eliasson: In Your Time., which can be visited until January 22, 2023. The Icelandic-Danish contemporary artist “works on all the Renaissance environments, from the courtyard to the Piano Nobile at the Strozzina, creating an immersive journey between new installations and historical works that use elements such as color, water and light to create an interaction with our senses and the Renaissance space. The architectural, historical and symbolic context of the palace is thus rethought by enhancing the role of the public as an integral part of the works.” DISCOVER MORE.

What does Venice offer us? Natural light plays a dominant role in bringing to life the atmosphere in the lagoon city, but there is a long tradition of artificial lighting as well, from small to large scale. Glass and design lovers, make a note of the exhibition Venini: Light 1921 – 1985 curated by Marino Barovier and held at the exhibition space The Rooms of Glass until January 8, 2023! IN-DEPTH

In times of uncertainty such as the ones we are currently experiencing, small concrete gestures on behalf of others are anchors of salvation for everyone and everyone, small lights that keep the hope of a better future lit.
