Events & Routes “Reflecting on the Parables Day by Day”

From Sept. 15 to 21 at the Casa Valdese in Vallecrosia a seminar on biblical reflection led by Pastor Giuseppe Platone

An enriching and exploratory experience open to everyone, featuring discussions, readings, screenings, and presentations—not to mention social gatherings, walks along the waterfront, and excursions to explore western Liguria.

From September 15 to 21, the Bible study seminar led by Pastor Giuseppe Platone returns to the Casa Valdese in Vallecrosia; this year’s theme is “Reflecting on the Parables Day by Day”.

The focus of the discussion will be the parables: what was Jesus hoping to achieve with these unique stories? After two thousand years of interpretation, this event aims to enrich the debate.

The program

Every morning, there will be an in-depth discussion on the year’s biblical theme (9:30–10:30 a.m.). In the afternoon, there will be time for activities to be decided together with the participants (5:30–7:00 p.m.), which may vary depending on the weather, and in the evening, there will be book presentations and group film viewings (8:45 p.m.).

Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet up, chat, and take walks in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The program in detail
Tuesday 15: Arrival in Vallecrosia in time for dinner, followed by presentations and program sharing
Wednesday 16: morning “The Parables of Jesus”; afternoon presentation of a recent book; movie night
Thursday 17: morning “The Parables of Jesus”; afternoon “‘The ‘Eight per Thousand’ Tax turns 30, how has it changed our church?” with Pastor Jonathan Terino; movie night
Friday 18: morning “The Parables of Jesus”; afternoon program to be determined; evening movie
Saturday 19: morning trip to inland Liguria with packed lunch and return for dinner; evening free
Sunday 20: morning worship with the local community at the Bordighera temple (10:30 a.m.) followed by a gathering at the Casa Valdese; evening evaluations, proposals and future plans
Monday 21: morning short worship and departure after breakfast
