Hotel Casa Valdese Pietra Ligure Inclusive since the very beginning

Awelcoming home

The Hotel Casa Valdese Pietra Ligure, in keeping with the philosophy of all Casa Valdese properties, believes in a form of tourism that puts the individual—their pace and their needs—at the center.
We embrace the value of inclusivity, which for us means not only removing architectural barriers but also creating an environment where every guest feels welcomed, listened to, and free to enjoy their vacation with peace of mind.

    Inclusive tourism

We offer rooms with accessible bathrooms and a fully equipped beach directly connected to the hotel, with priority access guaranteed to people with disabilities and their caregivers.

In addition, we provide JOB and SAND&SEA chairs to allow everyone to enjoy the water safely.

This approach is part of a broader vision of inclusive tourism, which considers not only physical barriers but also sensory, cognitive, cultural, and emotional ones.

It is a path that the Case Valdesi have been pursuing for years, with the goal of ensuring truly accessible and meaningful experiences.

    Our Story

The Hotel Casa Valdese Pietra Ligure was born from a history of care, hospitality, and social commitment.

Its roots date back to 1855, when Waldensian pastor Jean Pierre Meille established the first seaside sanatoriums in the Finale area, offering stays to sick children, factory workers, and miners so they could benefit from the healthy air of the Riviera.

A pioneering project, driven by a deep sense of solidarity and social justice.

In the years that followed, thanks to the legacy of the Meille family, the colony became a permanent institution of the Waldensian Church of Turin, and in 1913 the building that still welcomes travelers today was constructed.

The war brought a hiatus, but as early as 1947, the facility resumed operations, expanding and undergoing renovations over time: new buildings, restored spaces, the gradual removal of architectural barriers, and a growing focus on the needs of everyone.

Since 1998, management has been entrusted to the Waldensian Diaconia, which continues to carry out the original mission by offering accessible, supportive, and respectful hospitality.
