At Casa Cares, the environment is a priority, even in the little things
Sustainability and respect for the environment are part of Casa Cares’ identity and are reflected in every choice. From the organic vegetable garden to the phyto-purification plant, from the installation of photovoltaic panels to composting, from plastic free choices for the office to the preference for eco-friendly cleaning products, in the constant search for the best solutions for us and for the world. And as of today, a small piece is added to this journey, with the decision to have only wood and natural fiber brooms and metal dustpans, further reducing the presence of plastic in the facility.
Sustainability–one broom at a time
Wood and metal are completely recyclable, in some cases even naturally biodegradable. This is why, at Casa Cares, we prefer them in all purchases as a substitute for plastic items. It is important to remember that durable plastic (i.e., anything that is not packaging) is not recycled, so once it is produced the only way to “get rid of” it is through incineration or degradation in the environment (polyethylene is estimated to take at least 1,000 years).
Wood and metal: beautiful and sustainable
Wood and metal utensils are more attractive to look at and handle than plastic utensils, and they have significantly less ecological impact. Once worn out, they can be easily disposed of in a sustainable manner. Thus, one step after another, Casa Cares chooses for itself an increasingly responsible management to offer its guests an oasis of serenity.
