A <\/mark>Casa Cares<\/mark><\/a><\/strong>, since we started thinking plastic free<\/strong>, we have broadened our gaze by going beyond the well-established choices (not using plastic water bottles or single-serving soap in plastic packaging, which we have long since eliminated by choosing <\/mark>solutions<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>alternative solutions<\/mark><\/strong><\/a>). We decided not to use plastic on every possible occasion. <\/p>\n\n

How much does plastic pollute?<\/h4>\n\n

Plastic, it is well known but worth remembering, has a very long degradation time<\/strong> (one thousand years versus two hundred for aluminum and twelve months for cardboard) but not only that: while cardboard or aluminum once degraded are non-polluting, plastic breaks down into microplastics <\/strong>and nanoplastics<\/strong> that spread everywhere in the environment never ceasing to pollute.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, because recycling practices have significant quantitative and qualitative limitations, the ideal solution is to choose alternative materials that are also often more durable.<\/p>\n\n

Reducing plastic in the office<\/h4>\n\n

The stapler, pencil sharpener, pliers, and paper hole punch are common items in offices and come in metal, although there are all-plastic versions or versions with plastic inserts for each.<\/p>\n\n

We went a little further and decided to buy only cardboard<\/strong> pens<\/strong> and metal markers<\/strong> (the cap, unfortunately, is still plastic). We even found pencil highlighters<\/strong>! <\/p>\n\n

The search continues… For anything that cannot be found plastic free<\/strong>, the alternative is to look for a recycled plastic product, which is always better than choosing new plastic! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
